DAY TO DAY WORK

  • Manage budgets, resources, and project timelines

  • Ensure research meets safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders, government bodies, or the public
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and water operators on solutions
  • Stay up to date with new water technologies, regulations, and industry trends

Qualifications for this role

The following qualifications are required for this role: 

Undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as:

  • Environmental Science
  • Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Water Science or Hydrology
  • Chemistry, Biology, or related natural sciences 

Postgraduate study (often preferred) such as:

  • Master’s in Water Management, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science

  • MBA or Master’s in Project/Research Management for leadership-focused roles

Professional Experience:

  • Several years of experience in water research, treatment, or environmental projects
  • Experience leading teams, managing budgets, and coordinating projects
  • Familiarity with Australian water regulations, environmental laws, and quality standards
