Position Title: Team Leader Water

In this permanent full time position, we are looking for someone who demonstrates, through behaviour, an alignment and an understanding of our values and has the following skills:

• Community Focussed: considers community/customers in decision making.
• Direct experience in a relevant field, such as emergency management, hydraulic design, stormwater modelling, waterway management or local government.
• Experience in, or ability to demonstrate aptitude for, leading a team.
• Ability to apply critical thinking and reasoning, and respectfully challenge people and ideas.          

This position leads the City of Launceston's Water team to ensure that Council's strategic objectives are achieved.  The team's key areas of responsibility are:

• Management of drainage and flood mitigation assets.
• Development and implementation of stormwater system management plans.
• Facilitation of improvements to environmental and public health of our urban and riverine ecosystems.
• Provision of technical advice regarding stormwater assets, developments and capital projects.

The Team Leader will take a lead role in flood warning and response for Launceston, and assist the Emergency Management Advisor to provide relevant advice and documentation on emergencies relating to flood or storm inundation.
