General Manager, Housing & Urban Planning (Fixed Term)

This well-established government owned utilities organisation is committed to proactively planning and developing infrastructure to enhance the experience of the community it serves. Values driven with a great working culture, they are seeking to appoint a fixed term General Manager, Housing and Urban Planning who will play a critical role both internally and externally in shaping the organisation’s role in a changing environment.

The successful individual will focus on delivering the organisation’s housing roadmap in the context of government requirements, working across state government, local councils, developers, and other key stakeholders. This person will also provide specialist advice and leadership to synthesise and respond to emerging urban planning and development challenges, with the individual in this role being a strategic ambassador and advocate in external forums and policy settings.

To be successful in this position, you will have significant demonstrated knowledge in the area(s) of urban and/or town planning, civil and/or land engineering, and urban and/or regional planning law and practice. You will be experienced in working with government stakeholders at a senior level as well as having a deep understanding of planning and development sector drivers and future opportunities. You will ideally bring significant networks and demonstrated thought leadership to this organisation alongside strong commercial acumen and an ability to effect change. Tertiary qualifications in urban planning and/or civil engineering will be highly regarded.
