About the role:
Our Development Services Section plays a critical role at Unitywater in providing a streamlined development applications and management process whilst developing income generating opportunities for Unitywater and focusing on continuously improving the process.
Based at our new Mango Hill office, The Development Inspector/Officer is responsible for evaluating development related connection and infrastructure construction applications against technical and service standards, to ensure Unitywater provides customers with appropriate and efficient water supply and sewerage services. Provide advice against technical and services standards to internal and external stakeholders, including undertaking field-based site inspections.
The role will also apply their knowledge to manage the asset handover process through audit inspection and acceptance of water supply and sewerage infrastructure on behalf of Unitywater.
The role will be accountable for driving industry best practice on the application process and ensuring Services Level Agreements are upheld.

About you:

- Relevant industry qualifications such as Associate Diploma, Degree or similar civil construction qualification or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, guidelines, town planning documentation and design manuals.
- Ability to read, interpret and implement engineering plans and specifications.
- C Class Drivers License.
- A working knowledge of, or the ability to attain knowledge of the Sustainability and Planning Act and Integrated Development Assessment System, South East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail) Restructuring Act, Water Supply Act and the Environmental Protection Act, and related Regulations.
- Displays a commitment to quality customer service, values the supply of accurate and timely information and relates to people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work in both office based and field locations, including travelling to and from sites within the Unitywater region.
