Our Vacancy
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to become an integral member of our People and Culture Team in Adelaide. In this role, you will be responsible for business as usual fortnightly and monthly payroll processing, leading the management of payroll activities in the P&T Alliance business group. Incorporating timesheet management in UKG Kronos, payroll activities in SAP and working closely with our People & Culture Coordinator to support onboarding and business reporting requirements.
Key duties include:
- Software & Systems: Timesheet data entry in the KRONOS system. Accurate interpretation of digital timesheets from KRONOS into SAP for relevant employees – wages and salaried.
- Payroll Management: Relevant payroll related activities in SAP for fortnightly and monthly paid employees. Review and distribute all fortnightly payslips to employees on time.
- Calculations: Verify and input payroll data incorporating the calculation of overtime, penalties, leave entitlements, allowances and deductions.
- Reconciliation: Identify and correct errors before final processing.
- Leave Management: Process all leave applications and prepare associated reporting.
- Compliance: Understand and apply EBA provisions, awards, legislation, contract terms and tax regulations.
- Reporting: generate payroll and statistical reports as required including end of month and financial year requirements.
- Problem Solving: Investigate & respond to payroll queries in an informative and friendly manner. Ensure payroll problems or issues are promptly raised and appropriately addressed.
- Relationship Management: Liaise with employees, supervisors and senior staff on payroll/processing matters.
About You
Essential Skills / Qualifications
- Self-driven: effective time management, organisational and prioritisation skills
- Proficient: advanced Excel skills & data management (formulas, macros, pivot tables, vlookup)
- Operates autonomously: Strong experience leading front-end payroll incorporating time/attendance data management.
- Fluent working with business systems: sound proficiency working with various systems and data sources (SAP, SuccessFactors, Kronos, ETC)
- Data analytics & reporting: strong background preparing leave reports, hours worked, superannuation, employee demographics etc)
- Enterprise Agreements: interpretation and application
- Calculations: Confidence calculating/processing of manual adjustments and reconciliation tasks
- Continuous improvement mindset: Demonstrated ability to analyse existing processes to identify and implement improvements
- Relationship Management: Ability to create and nurture relationships with external stakeholders i.e. consultants, government authorities.
- High attention to detail: strong professional written and verbal communication skills
