The opportunity

We now have this great role available!  You will play an important part in providing key GIS specialist advice to our business, guidance to the team on key spatial asset data functions and be involved with various projects.  Day-to-day you will be tasked with leading, deploying, capturing GIS data, and developing and embedding processes to ensure compliance and accuracy of the GIS information.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate an effective, efficient, and robust Geospatial service to internal and external stakeholders and deliver specialist Geospatial advice and information for spatial related projects.
  • Manage and maintain Geospatial datasets, ensuring that restrictions, copyrights, and license agreements are acknowledged and followed.
  • Accountable for the robust Geospatial data capture, collection, and management
  • Oversee the design, schedule, budget and implementation enhancements to GIS systems and software applications, including database design and administration.
  • Responsible for the production of data, maps, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated Understanding of all facets of the Esri suite of spatial tools
  • Understanding of mapping and survey processes, geographical co-ordinate systems, the Victorian cadastre, and spatial products.
  • Experience in the use of SQL and FME.
  • Accomplished in the analysis of spatial information, identifying enhancements and improvement opportunities.
  • Knowledge in the implementation and use of locational information systems including spatial software, technologies, applications, data, and strategy development.
  • Strong interpersonal and client-focused communication skills combined with a customer service focused to approach.
  • Tertiary qualification in surveying, spatial science, information management, systems, business, engineering, or related field.
