We’re currently recruiting an Operator to join our Wodonga Reticulation team at North East Water until June 2025!


About the role

The Operator Reticulation plays a pivotal role in consistently executing water and wastewater reticulation tasks and ensuring smooth and efficient operations to deliver safe drinking water and compliant wastewater services. 

This role is a full-time opportunity in our Wodonga team until June 2025, including a monthly RDO and flexible work options. The general hours of work are between 7am and 4:30pm and once deemed competent, you will be required to participate in a seven-day on call roster every 3-4 weeks which operates from a Tuesday until the following Tuesday.


General day-to-day duties:

  • Emergency repairs on water and wastewater pipes and assets.
  • Scheduled maintenance on water and wastewater pipes and assets.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of sewer pump stations.
  • Water meter inspections, readings, and repairs.
  • Inspection of assets.
  • Completion of electronic work orders and data entry.
  • Ordering and collecting parts and materials.
  • Basic site and ground maintenance.
  • Other duties as required.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Current MR Drivers licence is required.
  2. Knowledge and/or experience in asset and equipment monitoring and maintenance.
  3. Knowledge and/or experience in data entry and documentation.
  4. Knowledge and/or experience in the maintenance of distribution and collection networks, is an advantage. 
  5. Licence or competency in the use of excavation equipment, is an advantage.

Position Information 

  • An attractive salary range of $59,237 to $75,160 plus 11.5% superannuation, depending on skills and experience. This role attracts additional remuneration through allowances and participation in an on-call roster.
  • This is a full time, limited tenure position until June 2025.
  • Successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including a police check and/or pre-employment medical and functional testing where applicable.
