About the Role

As a Principal Water Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality water and wastewater water infrastructure projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in:

  • Providing technical leadership and verification on complex water infrastructure projects
  • Mentoring and guiding a team of talented engineers
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Driving business development and fostering client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Develop and evaluate options to arrive at preferred solutions
  • Lead and guide technical design inputs on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery and high quality
  • Provide technical review and verification on projects to client requirements
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring of junior team members
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet client expectations
  • Contribute to business development through networking and high-quality work delivery
  • Champion innovation and promote new techniques in water engineering
  • Foster an inclusive and diverse working environment.
Here's what you'll need

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering
  • Extensive experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects within a design environment
  • In-depth knowledge of water industry standards, codes, and best practices
  • Strong proficiency in relevant software 
  • Excellent technical knowledge, design management and client relationship skills
  • Ability to manage technical and corporate risks
  • Outstanding communication and report writing abilities.
