Senior Process Engineer - Water Treatment

About the role:

Our Water Division is experiencing significant growth, presenting the opportunity for a Senior Process Engineer to provide technical leadership in specialist areas of process engineering, contributing to company goals as part of our Water Team. Act as Project Technical Lead or support project manager/team leader ensuring project outcomes meet both the client and Stantec expectations. Work with the Team Leader and Senior staff to develop Graduate and Intermediate staff in delivering quality outcomes with technical excellence.  

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, program and coordinate specific projects with the Project Manager to deliver the agreed outputs on budget, on time and to the desired quality.
  • Manage and assist in the process and technical engineering, design management, and project management from planning, feasibility/concept design and to detailed design of water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Prepare portions of engineering project proposals, maintain good client interactions through active communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments.
  • Ensure all technical outputs conform to the project scope, are safe and are of appropriate quality.
  • Support the development and expansion of the Company’s capability in the fields of water and wastewater design, including obtaining new clients and/or new work from existing clients.
  • Support the development of other team members through mentoring, technical advice and guidance.
  • Contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal material as required.
  • Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality, Safety & Environment Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
  • Commit to the Stantec Quality, Health & Safety programmes and ensuring proactive use of our project management systems.

To be successful for this role you'll present:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Chemical, Process) or equivalent
  • Greater than six years of demonstrated process design experience in the water and wastewater treatment industry.
  • Chartered engineering status preferred but not essential. 
  • Previous consulting experience preferred but not essential
