The opportunity

Join a collaborative team of 80 specialist process engineers and take a technical leadership role. Our water and wastewater process engineers are involved in the complete water, wastewater and recycled water treatment project life cycle, throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. Due to a strong pipeline of current and future projects, we are seeking the appointment of an experienced Principal (Technical Director) Process Engineer, to join our thriving water team in Melbourne and grow our local capability

About you

You will be an experienced Process Engineer with a track record of delivering water or wastewater treatment plants across Victoria. 

We are looking for someone with experience at the senior level to manage the design of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong will possess demonstrated experience in planning and managing the engineering aspects of infrastructure projects across a range of urban and regional plants.

Along with proven and adapt stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse interests, you will be an experienced consultant and problem solver with highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify risks and deliver innovative solutions.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Technical director role to lead our integrated treatment design capability.
  • Experience undertaking and leading investigations, options assessments and design of water treatment plants.
  • Proven in-depth knowledge of the industry's policies, standards, research, developments, and market trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally with colleagues, clients, operators, and through preparation of high-quality reports and presentations.
  • A willingness to mentor and develop more junior colleagues.
  • The flexibility to be both autonomous and work cohesively within a team environment.
  • A client focus combined with a track record of being able to build and maintain long term client relationships.

This role will see you:

  • Be a leader of our wastewater and / or water treatment technical teams and play a hands-on role and lead figure on process engineering delivery of complex water and wastewater projects.
  • Utilise your technical engineering capabilities to play a leading role in the delivery of projects.
  • Mentor other team members and contribute to the professional development of future professionals
  •  Develop and maintain trusted long-term relationships with our clients.
  • Collaborate with our multidiscipline teams to secure, manage and deliver projects.
  • Remain at the forefront of technological developments, research and industry best practice.
