Our Vacancy
As part of the Asset Delivery & Performance team within the Contract, Procurement & Performance business unit, the purpose of the Maintenance & Reliability Planner role is to enable efficient and effective asset management and performance through establishing, maintaining, and optimising the maintenance planning and scheduling functions.
The Maintenance & Reliability Planner will work directly with the Maintenance Supervisors, Plant Supervisors and Team Leaders to build a reliable and efficient maintenance team. In addition, independently work with other plant personnel to plan and support preventative, predictive, corrective and reactive maintenance tasks.
Your primary duties will include:
Maintenance Planning Duties
• Ensure planning activities are aligned and assist in the development of improved standard processes across the sites
• Plan and coordinate maintenance jobs and projects.
• Schedule planned (preventative/corrective) and reactive maintenance.
• Develop a bill of materials for Planned Maintenance tasks.
• Review long-term planning/scheduling with Team Leaders and Plant Supervisors.
• Liaise with external service providers to ensure all resources and materials are in place to complete planned work.
• Ensure that maintenance planning and scheduling objectives and KPI targets are met by coordinating the requirements of both operations and maintenance teams while minimising impacts and risks on service delivery and quality.
• Contribute to the cost-efficient planning and execution of planned work, considering internal manpower, contractors, materials, specialised equipment, waste management and disposal.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to achieve the least amount of production downtime.
• Assist in implementing new systems and reporting improvement.
• Perform equipment and repair parts data entry and management.
• Maintain equipment attributes information in the Enterprise Asset Management System (IBM Maximo).
• Manage the availability of specialist tools and equipment, spares and consumables to deliver efficiency in maintenance activities.
• Support Mechanical, Electrical and instrumentation (ME&I) maintenance personnel to isolate and repair equipment problems.
• Assist SA Water in optimising the ME&I maintenance plans.
• Participate in safety, health, well-being and environment programs and support proactively all EH&S policies and procedures.
• Assist delivery of performance reports as per ASD P&T Alliance, business, and management requirements.
Reliability Duties
• Analyse asset performance data to assess maintenance efficiency and drive reliability improvements.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on failures and recommend long-term solutions.
• Develop, update, and refine maintenance strategies (e.g., RCM, FMEA) and introduce reliability improvements (e.g., lubrication, precision maintenance).
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting cost reductions, maintenance efficiency, and improved asset lifecycle management.
• Develop and refine asset criticality ranking and adjust maintenance programs accordingly.
About You
Essential Skills/Qualifications
· Trade qualifications and/or relevant tertiary education
· Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in Engineering/Maintenance/Planning for large greenfield or brownfield site projects
· Experience with IBM Maximo Asset Management or similar
· Expertise and proficiency in MS Suite and EAM software (Enterprise Asset Management)
· Experience in CMMS site configurations for planned maintenance task reviews
· Strong ability to read and interpret documents, and designs/ drawings with the capability to write detailed reports
· Current unrestricted driver’s licence
Desirable Skills/Experience
· Experience in the use of data analytics/ BI tools
· High exposure to CMMS and planning software systems
· High level of interface communication with stakeholders and clients
· Proactive self-starter with a passion for reliability and continuous improvement.
