The opportunity
Due to internal movements, we have two new
vacancies within our team – one permanent and one fixed-term! Are you an
experienced and passionate engagement professional who is values driven and looking
to secure positive outcomes for customers, community and country?
Greater Western Water is seeking dynamic
individuals to champion customer and community voices, enhancing our reputation
through meaningful, inclusive, and transparent engagement. Collaborating
closely with project managers, contractors, and delivery partners, you will
ensure community values are at the heart of our work in the delivery of water
infrastructure projects.
You will lead best-practice engagement, build
strong stakeholder relationships across our service region, develop and
implement high-quality communication and engagement plans, programs and
activities that advocate for great customer and community outcomes and influence
strategic decisions.

Responsibilities
·
In consultation with key stakeholders, develop and
implement effective and strategic communication and engagement plans aligned
with the GWW Community Engagement Framework and IAP2 Core Values.
·
Provide high quality and timely strategic and
operational community engagement advice to drive superior community outcomes
and experience.
·
Drive innovation and identify opportunities to
deliver best practice community engagement and develop high quality public
information that is clear, timely and accessible.
·
Manage logistics for a range of communications and
engagement activities and events including community information sessions,
launches, letterbox drops, corporate events and public and promotional events
incorporating an understanding the barriers to engagement with an
proactive and adaptive approach.
·
Identify risks to customer experience and advocate
within the business for the best customer outcome and respond to customer and
public enquiries in a timely and appropriate manner.
Skills & Experience
·
Demonstrated experience in communication and
engagement roles working on multiple projects.
· Experience
developing and executing community and stakeholder engagement programs and
plans that build community capacity and social licence to operate, in
accordance with IAP2 core values combined with expertise in analysis, reporting
and evaluation of engagement processes and programs.
·
Ability to provide specialist advice combined with
exceptional negotiation and influencing skills.
·
Outstanding verbal and written communication
skills, with the ability to adapt your style for a diverse audience.
·
Demonstrated ability to identify and manage issues
that can impact on organisational reputation or achievement of strategic
objectives.
- A qualification in
communication or related field or an IAP2 certification would be highly
regarded.
· A current Victorian
driver's licence is advantageous as this role involves travel across our
service region and occasional community engagement activities outside of
standard hours.
· This role will require
the successful candidate to undertake a Working with Children Check (WWCC).
