The Opportunity
Veolia has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in Wellington. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in workplace safety across our operations. Within this role, you'll implement health and safety systems, provide operational support, and ensure compliance across critical utilities infrastructure.

What you’ll be responsible for
- Execute health and safety programs and conduct site inspections and risk assessments
- Monitor compliance with H&S legislation and maintain safety management systems, including OHSAS 18001:2007 and AS/NZS 4801 standards
- Manage incident reporting processes and coordinate with regulatory bodies, including WorkSafe
- Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and support H&S committee meetings
- Conduct internal audits, prepare safety reports, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide technical H&S advice and coach supervisors in safety leadership
What You’ll Need to be Successful
- Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
- H&S experience, preferably in utilities, industrial or energy sectors
- Strong knowledge of NZ H&S legislation and safety management systems
