The opportunity
With a strong pipeline of strategic planning projects, we
are seeking the appointment of experienced Water Modellers, to join
our thriving Australian water team. The roles will ideally be based in
our Newcastle office, although we are open to considering
Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne based candidates.
Our water modelling team supports a wide range of strategic
planning projects across Australia and the Pacific, including water and
wastewater network modelling, and water resource modelling. The team is an
integral part of the broader strategic planning and advisory group, and
contributes to strategy studies, options investigations and concept designs for
potable water, wastewater, recycled water and surface water supply projects.
We work in partnership with a variety of urban and regional
clients, with a strong focus on supporting regional councils, water utilities
and state-based agencies, helping to make everyday better for our clients and
the communities they serve.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Building
and calibrating hydrological and hydraulic models for water and wastewater
networks and water resource systems
- Analysing
and assessing hydrologic, hydraulic, GIS and survey data
- Utilising
GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS
- Undertaking
modelling investigations, options assessments, master planning, growth and
development studies, and operational / control systems design and
validation
- Communicating
model development and model outcomes with both internal and external
stakeholders, including preparation of modelling reports
- Working
in collaboration with other team members to deliver a variety of systems
investigations, planning studies, feasibility and strategy studies, and
concept designs
About you
You are a highly motivated Water Modeller looking to grow
within the Water market, with a strong track record in successfully delivering
modelling projects in a consulting environment. You hold a Bachelor of Civil or
Environmental Engineering or another relevant qualification, and have five
years or more of relevant work experience. You’ll have a solid grounding in the
theory of water and wastewater network hydraulics, and/or water resource
systems, and ideally experience using modelling software such as InfoWorks,
MIKE, Source or Wathnet. Your experience spans technical delivery and
client-facing activities, and you have a natural ability to build wide and
effective networks of contacts inside and outside the organisation ultimately
leading to ongoing work and repeat business.
You love to learn, share knowledge and bring a fresh
perspective to support the development of those around you. You constantly seek
better practice to enhance the overall quality of our work and client
experience.
