About the role:
Join Unitywater as a Network Engineer (Network Faults) and help us deliver smart, efficient water and wastewater services that our customers can rely on. You’ll play a vital role in fault analysis and resolution across our potable water, recycled water, and wastewater networks. This is your chance to apply your technical problem-solving skills to real-world challenges, helping to maintain essential infrastructure, protect public health, and deliver a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
Fault Analysis & Problem Solving
- Investigate and resolve faults across water, recycled water and wastewater networks, using structured, analytical techniques.
- Apply systematic and timely problem-solving during Level 1 & 2 incidents to reduce operational risks.
- Support root cause identification for operational deviations and service interruptions.
- Manage technical investigations, working closely with the Control Room, operational teams, and operational systems to log and action faults.
- Maintain and regularly update fault registers and case files.
- Escalate issues and coordinate with Planning and Network Performance teams on ongoing or complex faults.
- Identify recurring issues and underperforming assets, recommending critical spares and updates to planned maintenance programs.
- Contribute to capital project proposals aimed at network performance improvement.
- Support drinking water quality and public health objectives by ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve customer complaints and improve service reliability.
- Demonstrate behaviours that align with Unitywater’s commitment to excellent customer service.
- Collaborate across teams to enhance network reliability and resilience.
About you:

- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
- Knowledge of water utility operations, fault protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Skilled in analysing and resolving complex network issues with clear, structured thinking.
- Strong organiser who can manage priorities, meet deadlines, and coordinate effectively.
- Collaborative communicator, able to translate technical detail into practical insights.
- Flexible, team-focused, and committed to continuous learning and development.
- Willing to participate in an on-call roster when required.
