The opportunity
Join the Legal Team at GWW!
Day to day you will be providing legal services and
advice to the business on a broad range of matters, including but not limited
to commercial contracts, construction and infrastructure delivery, statutory
interpretation, water law, property and planning law, administrative law, and
civil litigation matters.
Dive into this opportunity today! We anticipate the successful candidate will
commence early to mid-January 2026.
Responsibilities
· Work collaboratively
supporting the Legal team as requested by the General Counsel and Assistant
General Counsel.
· Independently manage
complex or sensitive matters, including civil litigation
· Supporting the
maintenance of a suite of legal precedents across a range of areas including
contracts, and statutory notices.
· Build, maintain and
manage relationships within and across the organisation
Skills & Experience
· Tertiary qualification
in Law, admitted to practice as an
Australian legal practitioner under the Legal Profession Uniform Law
Application Act 2014.
· Practical experience in
private practice or in-house or working in similar role within the government
sector.
· Demonstrated experience
in contract law, within the public sector context.
· Proven experience in
litigation civil procedure and regulatory/administrative law.
· Experience in briefing
external legal services providers and providing legal advice in a pragmatic and
practical business orientated focus.
· Ability to work
independently and within a team.
·
Proactively manage time and priorities to meet expected turnarounds.
