AECOM’s Water Resources business is seeking an engaging and collaborative Sector Manager for our New South Wales team.
Our Water Resources team delivers integrated, multidisciplinary services from flood risk and hydraulic modelling to drainage design, water quality and nature based solutions, across a range of projects including infrastructure, energy, defence, water utilities and airports.
This key leadership role will give you the opportunity to build networks across AECOM in Australia, New Zealand, and globally, from business operations through to management, while working closely with our leading specialists. Guide the growth of the NSW Water Resources sector by fostering strong client partnerships, expanding market presence, diversifying our portfolio of services, and successfully delivering projects across the region.
Ensure technical and delivery excellence while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, governance, and client satisfaction.
Cultivate a collaborative, high-performing team culture by mentoring staff, providing technical direction, and nurturing growth.
Leverage regional and global expertise to drive innovation, implement best practices, and enhance delivery outcomes.
About You

The qualities that help you thrive
A relevant tertiary degree, CPEng, and ideally 20+ years of experience in water resources, including drainage, flooding, nature based solutions, water balance and yield assessments, and integrated water management.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to champion innovative ideas, encourage initiative, and apply creative solutions.
A passion for leadership, mentoring, collaboration, and building strong relationships across diverse stakeholders.
Commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to make informed decisions that balance profitability, efficiency, and market insight.
