The Practice Leader – Water Treatment and Desalination is responsible for leading Stantec’s pursuits and delivery capability in Water Treatment, including seawater desalination, working with our multi-disciplinary teams located across Australia.
The PL is required to partner with other PLs in their Market, both in Australia and New Zealand, and working with the Technical Delivery Leader – Water and relevant Discipline Leaders, to share materials, approaches, best practice, and consistency where possible so to allow the business to operate as a homogeneous ANZ business.
This is a national role and can be based in either our Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth office.
Specifically, your duties will include:
Reporting to the Market Leader – Treatment Water, Australia (ML), the Practice Leader (PL) is responsible for:
Apply strategic thinking, accounting for global trends within the Practice, and the impacts of other market trends such as climate change, net zero pathways and impact of emerging contaminants such as PFAS on the Water Treatment practice.
Develop strategic business opportunities to shape the Business Centre.
Support the Market Leader in strategic pursuits.
Technical excellence of the Practice you represent through project delivery.
Ensuring technical delivery is consistent within your market.
Identify technical leaders within the Business Centre. who operate within the Practice.
Supporting various leadership roles within the Business Centre to deliver technical excellence for our clients.
To be successful for this role you'll present:
Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably post-graduate
Nominally a minimum of 15 years of related work, technical leadership, and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Professional registration in a related field.
Experience of seawater desalination projects.
Experience of multiple water treatment planning and delivery projects ranging for small scale facilities to large city treatment facilities;
Experience with conventional water treatment technologies, as well as membrane based and other advanced treatment technologies.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines, and demonstrated experience in developing and supporting implementation of relevant risk management systems related to drinking water.
