About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Advisor to support the execution, and continuous improvement of HSE systems across our infrastructure projects. This role involves driving a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, and partnering with project leaders to deliver HSE excellence.

You’ll oversee HSE initiatives from mobilisation through project completion, with occasional travel to regional sites during key stages.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with project leaders and construction teams to deliver HSE excellence and embed company values into operations.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and empower personnel to reduce risk and protect people and the environment.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to project teams on safety requirements and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems and Federal Safety systems.
• Develop and implement HSE plans, incorporating legislative requirements and hazard mitigations.
• Lead incident investigations, liaising with regulators and stakeholders, and ensure fair treatment of all involved.
• Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance with Pensar standards.
• Champion safety initiatives including safety committees and safety month activities.
• Support tender submissions with HSE input and planning.

About You

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in utilities and infrastructure projects.
• Advanced Diploma in Work Health and Safety or greater

Desirable

• Return to Work Coordinator certification.
• First Aid & CPR (RTO issued) and Construction Induction Card.
• Management Systems Auditing and ICAM training.
• Mental Health First Aid certification.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
