Our highly regarded Environmental team in Darwin is seeking Professional to Principal Environmental Scientists and Engineers to support a wide range of exciting and meaningful projects across the Defence, government, mining, and energy sectors.

At AECOM’s Darwin office, you’ll gain hands-on experience in:

• Environmental impact assessment and approvals

• Contaminated land investigations and remediation

• Hydrology, hydrogeology, and water quality monitoring

• Biodiversity surveys and ecological assessments

• Environmental management planning and auditing

What will a day in this role look like:

• Conducting fieldwork in diverse and remote environments across the NT and beyond
  Supporting or leading the preparation of environmental assessments, management plans, and technical reports

• Project management and performance monitoring for environmental projects of all sizes 

• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, client-focused outcomes

• Engaging with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to support project delivery and business development efforts

• Contributing to a positive team culture and collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment

What are we looking for from you? 

• A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, and a valid Australian driver’s licence and Australian Citizenship (due to project requirements requiring defence clearance)

• A strong interest or experience in environmental approvals, contaminated land, or ecological fieldwork

• Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and get involved across a wide range of projects while contributing to a supportive, team-focused environment

• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to translate technical concepts clearly

• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently when needed

• A proactive attitude, curiosity to learn, and a commitment to delivering quality work

• Experience managing environmental projects end-to-end, including scope, timelines, budgets and coordination with clients and internal teams (desirable)
