About the Position 

Ventia is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Water Industry Worker to support operations at the Port of Brisbane and other key sites across South East Queensland. This role involves the servicing, maintenance, repair, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure.  

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in the water industry and ideally holds relevant high-risk work licenses, including excavator, forklift, and dogging. 

Key responsibilities include but not limited to: 

• Perform maintenance and minor construction on water and wastewater infrastructure. 

• Operate and maintain mechanical and civil assets including valves, hydrants, pumps, and pipelines. 

• Safely operate plant and equipment, including excavators and forklifts, for trenching, lifting, and asset installation. 

• Assist with dogging and rigging operations as required. 

• Conduct inspections, fault diagnosis, and minor repairs. 

• Record work activities using mobile devices and CMMS platforms. 

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. 

• Participate in standby and on-call rosters as required. 

Required Skills and Experience  

• Certificate II or III in Water Operations OR relevant experience in the water industry. 

• Construction White Card. 

• Current C Class Driver’s Licence (MR/HR desirable). 

• Experience in water, wastewater, or civil infrastructure maintenance. 

• Basic computer literacy for digital work order management. 

• Strong safety focus and ability to work in a team environment. 

• Excavator ticket (RIIMPO320F or equivalent), highly desirable. 

• Forklift High Risk Work Licence (LF) desirable 

• Dogging High Risk Work Licence (DG) desirable 

• Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certifications (or willingness to obtain).
