About the role:
This 19-month opportunity places you at the centre of Unitywater’s economic regulatory framework—where analysis, precision and influence directly shape pricing outcomes and long-term sustainability.
As Regulation Analyst, you’ll support Unitywater’s obligations under the Queensland Competition Authority (QCA), delivering robust, evidence-based pricing submissions and regulatory reporting. You’ll partner closely with finance and operational teams to strengthen cost allocation models, assess regulatory risk, and ensure compliance within a complex, evolving framework.
This is a role for someone who enjoys working where economics, regulation and strategy intersect—bringing clarity to complexity, strengthening transparency, and ensuring pricing decisions deliver sustainable value for customers and communities.

Must Have
- Degree and/or Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Economics or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in economic analysis, financial modelling, regulatory compliance or pricing within a regulated industry
- Strong ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory documentation
- Proven experience identifying regulatory risks and partnering with leaders to mitigate them
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex information clearly
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving regulatory environment
- Demonstrated ability to build long-term stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes
- Self-starter mindset with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
Nice to Have
- Membership of a professional body such as CPA or CA
- Experience working within economic regulation frameworks similar to the QCA
- Exposure to corporate finance and accounting concepts in infrastructure or utilities environments
