About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Buyer to join our Engineering & Construction business and play a key role in delivering large-scale water infrastructure projects that provide millions of people with reliable and trusted water services.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement and Supply Chain, you will take ownership of end-to-end procurement across major projects, sourcing mechanical and electrical equipment as well as subcontractor packages critical to project delivery. Working closely with engineering, project delivery, and commercial teams, you will ensure procurement strategies align with program timelines, technical requirements, and commercial outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to influence how major infrastructure projects are delivered, with direct impact on cost, quality, and schedule. You will be deeply involved in supplier engagement, contract negotiations, and resolving complex procurement challenges, ensuring materials and services are delivered efficiently and to the highest standard.

About You

You are a commercially astute procurement professional with experience operating in engineering or construction project environments, and you thrive in roles where your decisions directly influence project success. You bring proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer, with a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment sourcing and subcontractor management. You are confident in negotiating commercial terms and establishing mutually beneficial supplier relationships.

You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and are proficient in procurement software as well as Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel for managing cost and supplier data. You are detail-oriented and able to manage multiple procurement packages simultaneously, ensuring accuracy in ordering, invoicing, and record-keeping.

Preferred candidates will hold formal qualifications or certifications in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management, such as CPSM or CSCP, and have experience in large-scale infrastructure or utilities projects. Adaptability, commercial acumen, and strong interpersonal skills are key, alongside the ability to react to design changes or project adjustments efficiently. Experience with international sourcing, Incoterms, logistics, and tariff concessions is highly desirable.
