About the role

We have a permanent senior leadership opportunity for a Senior Principal Engineer joining our engineering advisory team based in Leederville. You’ll lead wastewater conveyance engineering to set governance and criteria for our standards, provide expert consulting and technical advice, manage technology development, application and process design on infrastructure projects across WA.

What the role will involve

·    Provide subject matter expertise and engineering consulting advice on wastewater conveyance engineering

·    Lead the development and maintenance of Water Corporation's engineering standards for wastewater conveyance infrastructure, including approved product registers and strategic specifications

·    Chair nominated Water Corporation Design Standards Committees to govern the adoption, implementation and updating of standards

·    Lead wastewater conveyance engineering development and innovation through the planning stages of new and/or modified assets

·    Lead major studies, research and engineering investigations to improve the performance of existing wastewater conveyance assets

·    Represent Water Corporation in consultation and negotiation with Government agencies, local authorities, Water Services Association of Australia, industry bodies, consultants, developers and stakeholders

·    Oversee, review and approve in-house, and consultant, design deliverables for wastewater conveyance engineering

·         Provide subject matter expert advice in safety in design reviews

About you

You’ll hold a degree level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, with extensive experience in wastewater conveyance, along with the ability to analyse existing and/or proposed infrastructure assets to evaluate engineering and economic effectiveness. Your demonstrated leadership, and ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence both internal and external senior stakeholders will ensure success in this role. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or similar engineering accreditation is preferred.
