About the Opportunity

We have a 6-month fixed-term contract opportunity supporting a Yarra Valley Water project and works with other water authorities, with flexibility for an immediate start.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple water authorities and locations.

This is a hands-on role within our Ice Pigging team, delivering innovative pipeline cleaning services using ice slurry technology.

What’s on Offer

  • $85K – $87K base salary (pro rata)

  • Guaranteed overtime + penalty rates + additional allowances

  • 38-hour week (8:00am – 4:00pm standard hours)

  • Exposure to multiple water authorities, including Yarra Valley Water

  • Potential for contract extension and ongoing project work

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Ice Pigging Team, delivering pipeline cleaning services across water networks with Ice Pigging, an innovative way of cleaning pressurised pipes using an ice slurry. This is a hands-on role suited to drivers and water main operators, involving the operation of trucks, equipment, and water networks on-site.

You will be responsible for producing and handling ice slurry, operating water mains and Ice Pigging equipment, and working closely with site teams to deliver jobs safely and efficiently. The role also involves setting up and packing down equipment, carrying out basic maintenance, and responding to breakdowns when required.

This role is based out of Melbourne’s northern suburbs with on-site works predominantly across Melbourne’s northern and eastern suburbs for the initial 6 month contract. Regular reasonable overtime is available at penalty rates. There is potential of the role being extended, which would involve some interstate travel, with accommodation and allowances provided.

About You

You have experience working in water networks (ideally with experience of shutting down water mains), civil, or similar field-based roles and are comfortable working outdoors in a hands-on environment.

You take safety seriously, can follow procedures, and are confident working as part of a small crew on-site. A valid HR or HC licence, or trade background in mechanical, plumbing, or similar is beneficial but not essential.
