About the Role

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and delivery of electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation systems across a range of water infrastructure projects. You will be involved in both early-stage design development and detailed engineering delivery, as well as providing support through construction and commissioning phases.

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will help develop practical and compliant technical solutions, ensuring design outputs align with project requirements, industry standards, and operational expectations. The role also involves coordination with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support smooth project execution from design through to site delivery.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys seeing their designs progress into real-world operational assets.

About You

You are an Electrical or Control Systems Engineer with experience working on infrastructure or industrial projects, ideally within water or similar regulated environments. You are confident working across multiple stages of delivery and enjoy being involved in both design and on-site support activities.

You take a practical approach to engineering, are comfortable working through technical detail, and can communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You work well in team environments but are also capable of progressing tasks independently when required.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in electrical, instrumentation or controls engineering in a project-based environment

  • A tertiary engineering degree in electrical or Instrumentation & Control and eligible for professional engineer membership or working towards Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status

  • Exposure to water, wastewater or similar infrastructure/industrial projects (preferred)

  • Experience producing engineering deliverables such as specifications, calculations, datasheets, and design documentation

  • Working knowledge of Australian Standards and industry engineering practices

  • Experience participating in design reviews and risk workshops (HAZOP / CHAZOP desirable)

  • Ability to support construction and commissioning activities, including vendor coordination and FAT/SAT involvement

Desirable: Engineers Australia membership and experience with automation or process control systems
