Join Sydney Water as an Integrated Planning Manager – South , a senior leadership role within the System Planning and Land Acquisition (SP&LA) team.

About the Role
This role is crucial in ensuring that Sydney Water continues to provide high-quality water servicing and protects the environment for generations to come while also keeping customer bills affordable. You will have the opportunity to develop and optimize short, medium, and long-term plans for assets, systems, and regions, aligning with Sydney Water’s goals, obligations, and customer insights.
- Lead 3–4 Planning Program Leads (with indirect oversight of ~10–15 planners across senior, professional, graduate and undergraduate levels) within a matrix structure leveraging internal and external expertise.
- Develop and oversee infrastructure plans for greenfield growth and infill capacity, contributing to government-led initiatives and precinct-scale planning to enable housing and employment growth across Greater Sydney.
- Drive innovative, best‑practice planning approaches and tools, collaborating with peer managers to deliver value for customers, improve efficiency, and embed systemic improvements.
About You:
- In addition to a degree qualification in a relevant discipline (engineering, urban planning, business, economics and/or science), with a post-grad qualification highly regarded, we are looking for:
- Approximately 10+ years relevant industry and leadership experience in the field of engineering and infrastructure management
- Demonstrated competence in leadership at a senior level and strong ability to coach and develop the skills of others.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes and business improvement and act on opportunities for efficiencies.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish a high degree of credibility at all levels across organisations (internal and external).
