Vexa Engineering is a specialist engineering consultancy delivering practical, high-quality water infrastructure solutions across municipal, industrial and mining water sectors.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Project Engineer – Design to lead the engineering design process across water infrastructure projects, providing technical input and coordinating multidiscipline teams, under the guidance of the Senior technical team.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing design activities from concept through to IFC, guiding engineers and drafters, and ensuring design quality, compliance and alignment with client, Australian and Vexa requirements. While mechanically led, the role requires coordination across civil, structural, electrical, controls and drafting disciplines.

This position suits an engineer transitioning from hands-on design into design management and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

·         Manage and coordinate engineering design across water infrastructure projects

·         Provide technical input and review of design deliverables

·         Coordinate multidiscipline engineering and drafting resources

·         Lead design reviews and Safety in Design workshops

·         Interface with clients, senior engineers, suppliers and OEMs

·         Ensure designs meet Australian Standards  and water authority requirements

About You

·         Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

·         5+ years’ experience in engineering design roles

·         Experience in water infrastructure (municipal, industrial or mining)

·         Strong understanding of pump stations, pipelines and pipework

·         Demonstrated hands-on design experience

·         Confident communicator with a practical, quality-focused mindset

·         Demonstrated experience coordinating or reviewing engineering design would be desirable

·         CPEng or working towards accreditation (supported)
