About the Role

We’re currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the end-to-end delivery of civil and water infrastructure projects across Queensland within Pensar’s Structures team, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, profitably and in line with client and contractual requirements.

Working closely with the Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for key elements of project delivery across safety, quality, environment, commercial performance, contracts, design and client interaction. This role suits a hands-on Project Engineer with strong civil capability and/or water and wastewater experience, who enjoys end to end involvement across construction projects.

You’ll play a key role in coordinating site teams, managing subcontractors, driving safety and quality outcomes, and ensuring projects are delivered to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the end-to-end delivery of civil and water infrastructure projects
• Lead safety on site, implementing WHS Management Plans and promoting a positive safety culture
• Manage project cost control, forecasting, reporting and cashflow
• Assist with contract administration including variations, extensions of time and commercial risk management
• Manage day to day client interactions and contribute to project reporting and meetings
• Coordinate and mentor Site Engineers, Graduates and Undergraduate Engineers
• Manage subcontractors, methodologies, programs and technical documentation
• Review drawings and manage design changes, RFIs and technical submissions
• Ensure environmental, quality and compliance requirements are met throughout project delivery

About You:

• 5+ years’ experience delivering civil or water infrastructure projects and currently working in a Project Engineer role

• Experience in water and wastewater projects and/or strong civil construction backgrounds
• Experience in structural steel, building works, concrete works and remediation highly regarded
• Exposure to end-to-end project delivery from construction commencement through to close out
• Strong understanding of WHS legislation, environmental compliance and quality systems
• Commercial awareness including cost tracking, forecasting and subcontractor management
• Confident communicator who can work effectively with clients, subcontractors and internal teams

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Engineering (Civil or related discipline)
• White Card (Construction Induction Card)
• Formal contract administration or project management training (desirable)
