Principal Civil Design Engineer – Water Infrastructure

Due to significant contract awards within our Water business, we are expanding our Water Infrastructure team in Melbourne.

The Water Infrastructure group provides services to a range of internal and external clients on projects covering water and wastewater treatment, dams, asset management, major conveyance, industrial, civil infrastructure, and defence sectors, with a key focus on supporting sustainable outcomes for our clients and the communities they serve.

By joining our team, you’ll be immersed in a strong, long-term pipeline of work, handling complex, large-scale and iconic projects across ANZ.

  • Design and deliver impactful water and wastewater projects, collaborating within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team
  • Play a hands-on role across the full project journey, from bids and concept design through to delivery and construction support
  • Help keep projects on track by balancing quality, timelines, and budgets with strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Build meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues across diverse sectors, creating positive and lasting partnerships
  • Shape winning tenders by applying your project management skills and commercial insight
  • Support and uplift emerging engineers through mentoring, while continuing to grow and invest in your own career journey.

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

The qualities that help you thrive:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with CPEng and/or RPEV
  • Demonstrated experience delivering detailed designs for potable water and wastewater networks, experience with wastewater treatment plants is highly regarded
  • Exposure to the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through to construction and commissioning
  • Proven experience working within a consultancy environment and collaborating across multidisciplinary stakeholder groups
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage effectively with clients and diverse stakeholders at all levels.
