AECOM is expanding its Water group and is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure team in Sydney.
The Water Infrastructure group provides services to a range of internal and external clients on projects covering water and wastewater treatment, dams, asset management, major conveyance, industrial, civil infrastructure, and defence sectors, with a key focus on supporting sustainable outcomes for our clients and the communities they serve.
By joining our team, you’ll be immersed in a strong, long-term pipeline of work, handling complex, large-scale and iconic projects across ANZ.
How you’ll make a difference:
- As an experienced engineer, you will deliver mechanical designs as part of our integrated water infrastructure team across Australia and New Zealand.
- You will provide mechanical engineering design, advice, review and approval whilst maintaining the high standards of delivery excellence established by the team.
- Work on a diverse range of major national and international water infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater treatment plants, desalination, major pump station and pipelines, dams and headworks, and support our delivery of water, transport, power and urban development projects.
- You will have opportunities to be mentored by leaders and industry experts in our business and will in turn mentor and develop emerging engineers to shape our future professionals.
About You

The qualities that help you thrive:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated mechanical design experience in water and/or wastewater projects within a consulting and design environment.
- Knowledge of applicable design codes, standards and guidelines.
- Experience delivering multi-disciplinary solutions and leading technical teams (highly regarded).
- Passion for delivering high quality work, with excellent client and stakeholder engagement skills.
