The Opportunity

We are seeking a casual Wastewater Treatment Operator with water industry operations experience/currently studying engineering, science or related field to assist in the operation and maintenance of a leachate/wastewater treatment plant in Carrara. This is a casual role with an attractive hourly rate. This position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to essential environmental projects.

• What you’ll be responsible for
• Operate, monitor and maintain the biological nutrient reduction water treatment plant.
• Provide support as required to the Site Supervisor including annual leave coverage.
• Assist the project/process engineers in undertaking improvement and optimisation initiatives.
• Carry out water sampling with a high degree of care to prevent cross contamination.
• Maintain asset integrity by regular inspections, services and testing to ensure maximum uptime.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure contract obligations are met.
• Undertake routine maintenance activities including supervision of work orders and maintaining a spare parts inventory.

What you’ll need to be successful

• Experience in water treatment operations.
• A working knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings, equipment and components.
• Previous experience in water sampling and/or testing is highly regarded.
• Be able to pass a criminal history check and Department of Defence baseline security clearance.
