Role Summary

Job title: Analyst – Water

Reporting to: Managing Director, Asia Pacific

Location: Melbourne or Sydney, Australia (remote working is part of Isle’s offering)

Employment type: Full-Time

Experience: 1–2 years

Isle is a UK-headquartered global consultancy working to derisk and accelerate the adoption of technologies that support the water environmental transition. We are seeking an Analyst with strong technical foundations and sharp analytical skills to support clients in addressing complex challenges across water utilities and end users, as part of our Australian team based in Melbourne or Sydney.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an early-career professional — ideally with an engineering or management consulting background — to work at the intersection of technology, innovation, and utility infrastructure, supporting some of the most forward-thinking utilities and industrial clients in the world.

Purpose

To support the delivery of high-quality consulting and technology intelligence work that helps clients navigate the water environmental transition, while developing your technical expertise and consulting capability within a global team.

Key Accountabilities

      Research & Analysis: Conduct rigorous technical, market, and regulatory research; synthesise findings into clear, evidence-based insights for clients.

      Technology Evaluation: Support the assessment of emerging and proven technologies for utility and industrial clients, including through Isle’s TAG platform.

      Project Delivery: Contribute to multi-disciplinary client engagements, delivering allocated workstreams accurately, on time, and to Isle’s standards for scientific rigour and professional presentation.

      Client Support: Assist in drafting high-quality reports and presentations.

      Proposal Support: Assist with research, drafting, and preparation of proposals.

      Quality: Maintain high standards in proofreading, editing, formatting, data accuracy, and effective visual communication.

      Collaboration: Work openly across teams, service lines, and geographies in a matrixed global organisation.

      Sector Insight: Build knowledge of regulations, industry drivers, and market developments across the water sector.

About You:

Qualifications

Degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline relevant to utility infrastructure. A Master’s degree is an asset.

Knowledge / Experience

      1–2 years’ experience, preferably in engineering or management consulting, within or adjacent to the water, or related industrial sectors

      Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesise and communicate complex information clearly and pragmatically

      Comfortable using digital tools, data analysis, and modern productivity platforms to support efficient delivery

      Right to work in Australia
