About the role:
Provide engineering support to the Project Manager in the delivery of construction activities. This includes resolution of technical issues, monitoring of quality, oversight of hold points and facilitation of handover and commissioning relating to a contract package of works within a project.
Your Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee construction activities to ensure works are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.
- Support the delivery of major projects by assisting with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, performance monitoring, and reporting.
- Monitor and manage contractor and delivery partner performance, ensuring contracted scopes are delivered to the required quality, compliance, and operational standards.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to minimise impacts on customers, communities, businesses, and public services throughout project delivery.
- Manage commissioning, handover, and operational acceptance activities, including reviewing technical documentation, overseeing testing requirements, and ensuring successful asset transition to operations.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A degree qualification in Engineering (or a related discipline), with exposure to the delivery of large infrastructure, construction, asset maintenance, or operational projects. A current driver's licence is essential, and Project Management qualifications will be highly regarded.
- Proven experience managing the design, construction, commissioning, handover, closeout, and defect resolution of medium to large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong project management capability, including experience interpreting project objectives, managing schedules, risks, costs, and project deliverables to achieve successful outcomes.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to prepare reports, recommendations, and facilitate effective meetings and workshops.
- Sound understanding of engineering construction practices, contractual and commercial requirements, problem-solving techniques, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
