Join our Wastewater Team to play a vital role in maintaining our community’s wastewater reticulation network!

What You’ll Do:

You’ll take a hands-on leadership role in maintaining and protecting Cairns’ wastewater network and supporting your crew to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality outcomes.

You’ll be responsible for coordinating day-to-day reticulation maintenance activities, ensuring customer requests and sewer blockages are responded to promptly and in line with service standards. From clearing complex obstructions and repairing lateral connections (jump-ups) to responding to rising main failures and wet weather events.

Be ready to respond when urgent issues arise – including after-hour callouts.

What We’re Looking For:

• A current HR Driver’s Licence.

• Construction White Card.

• Current Plumbers & Drainers Licence (desirable).

• Physical wellbeing to receive training and accreditation for entry into confined spaces.

• Previous experience with maintenance of wastewater reticulation assets.

• Ability to organise machinery and manpower to resolve wastewater reticulation defects.

• Good communication skills with a strong team and safety culture and taking pride in quality workmanship.

• Secondary education to Year 10, basic computer and writing skills, and an understanding of basic mathematics.
