Operations Level 5 - $74,161 plus superannuation

  • + annualised allowance of $2,869

 

What we are looking for:

 

We are seeking a motivated Water Industry Plant Operator / Labourer to support the delivery of water and wastewater construction and maintenance activities across our network operations.

 

What your day will look like:

  • Undertake water and wastewater maintenance and construction tasks using specialist plant, fleet and labouring skills.
  • Operate and care for Council vehicles, plant, tools and equipment safely, including pre‑start checks and basic maintenance.
  • Provide plant operation support and technical advice to the Team Leader and Plumbing Tradesman.
  • Apply safe systems of work, including SWMS, risk assessments, traffic management and public‑area safety.
  • Deliver professional customer service in the field and escalate issues appropriately.

What you'll need for success:

  • Experience in trenching, excavation, pipe laying, valve/fittings replacement and confined space work.
  • Ability to safely perform manual labouring tasks including digging and lifting.
  • Strong teamwork, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to use mobile devices and works management systems.
  • Class C or CA driver licence.
  • General Construction Induction (White Card).
  • MR licence
  • Ability to obtain relevant plant operation competencies (e.g., bobcat, excavator).
