Your opportunity: 

The Risk and Resilience Group are currently seeking an experienced Business Resilience Specialist to provide direction and senior expertise to guide the ongoing development, enhancement and implementation of the Business Resilience framework, plans and practices across the business.  This role forms part of part of the Security and Resilience team, responsible for implementing and executing enterprise-wide business resilience and protective security strategies to minimise risk to business operations and customer services.  

In this integral role, you will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support enhancement of business resilience processes, planning and capabilities to effectively eliminate, minimise or manage the effects of business and service disruption events. Your expertise will guide our workforce, delivery partners and stakeholders to improve the resilience of Urban Utilities.  

 About you: 

  • Demonstrated experience leading the appraisal, development and uplift of business resilience frameworks, strategies, planning and capabilities of business areas   

  • Demonstrated experience in the assessment and improvement of key resilience outcomes including supply chain and technology resilience  

  • Experience designing, developing & delivering improvement programs & processes relating to business resilience.  

  • Specialist knowledge and understanding of business continuity, emergency and crisis management frameworks, processes and legislative requirements.  

  • Demonstrated experience in partnering with business areas to enhance resilience planning and business readiness to manage disruption.  

  • Demonstrated experience with the development and delivery of resilience capability improvement programs through training, exercising and lessons management.  

  • Strong, collaborative style customer-focused mindset to deliver fit for purpose business outcomes. 

It would be desirable but not essential if you have:  

  • Relevant formal qualifications in Risk or Resilience related disciplines  

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within critical infrastructure sectors  

  • Demonstrated understanding of National and/or QLD disaster management and other emergency management arrangements. 

As part of this role you will be required to participate in Urban Utilities Emergency Management arrangements in an after hours / on call capacity in line with your skillset. This additional work will be in accordance with your employment contract.
