What we are looking for:
Fraser Coast Regional Council is seeking an experienced Water Reuse Manager to lead the delivery of our recycled water and biosolids programs. This role provides technical leadership, operational oversight and strategic direction to ensure safe, efficient and compliant service delivery across Council plantations, third‑party users and community interfaces.
What your day will look like:
- Lead recycled water storage, distribution and biosolids operations in line with statutory, environmental and licence obligations.
- Provide strategic guidance to maximise beneficial reuse across the Fraser Coast.
- Coordinate irrigation strategies and allocation frameworks for Council and external users.
- Develop and review policies, procedures and management plans supporting compliance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee plantation monitoring, silviculture programs and harvesting activities.
- Manage operational and capital program delivery, including budgeting, procurement, contract management and regulatory reporting.

What you’ll need for success:
- Degree qualification (AQF Level 7 or above) in environmental or agricultural science / engineering or other relevant qualification.
- Proven experience leading recycled water and biosolids programs, including governance, regulatory compliance, environmental risk management and the safe management of public exposure risks.
- Demonstrated capability in agricultural management operations including irrigation, cropping, forestry or livestock management.
- High‑level capability to analyse operational data, evaluate system performance and develop compliance, planning and improvement reports.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects from planning through to delivery, including procurement, contractor management, contract administration and the achievement of project outcomes within budget, timeframe and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and leadership capability, including the ability to provide clear technical advice, coach staff, influence stakeholders and maintain productive relationships across operational, regulatory and community interfaces.
- Valid class C or CA driver licence (provisional or open) to drive a vehicle in Queensland
- General Construction Induction (White Card)
What’s nice to have:
- Post‑graduate qualifications (AQF Level 8 or above) in a relevant discipline.
- Previous local government experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional association.
