Chemist (Water & Wastewater)

Chemists analyse water and wastewater samples to detect contaminants, optimise treatment processes, and support regulatory compliance.

Motivated by ensuring safe drinking water, compliance, and improving treatment processes, this role is suited to scientifically curious, precise, and analytical individuals.  
You will analyse water and wastewater for chemical composition, contaminants, and compliance with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
 
You'll conduct process optimisation trials, support research projects, and advise operators and management on chemical dosing and process improvements. Strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills are required for this role . 
  

DAY TO DAY WORK

  • Analyse water and wastewater samples.
  • Conduct research on treatment methods and contaminant removal.
  • Prepare compliance and technical reports.
  • Advise operational teams on chemical dosing and treatment strategies.
  • Maintain lab safety and quality systems.

Qualifications for this role

The following qualifications are required for this role: 

  • Bachelor or Master in Chemistry.
