IT Analyst

Digital water is a new frontier for the sector.

The systems used to treat and supply clean, safe, drinking water to our communities, increasingly rely on computer programs and remote access. 

Cybersecurity is becoming an incredibly important line of defence for our water treatment providers and our water supply. 
Suited to tech-savvy, analytical problem-solvers who enjoy integrating IT systems, managing data, and supporting operational technology.
 
Motivation often comes from improving efficiency, data-driven decision making, and digital transformation in critical water infrastructure. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential.

 

Day to Day Duties

  • Monitor IT systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Maintain cybersecurity protocols.
  • Support data collection and reporting for operations.
  • Collaborate with OT engineers and operational teams.

Qualifications for this role

The following qualifications can be used to become an IT Analyst for the water industry: 

  • Bachelor in IT, Computer Science
  • Cybersecurity training (Australian Cyber Security Centre standards).
