Process Engineer

Process Engineers play a fundamental role in ensuring that clean water  is provided to our communities.

Clean water is vital to the health and well being of our communities. Process Engineers are typically curious, precise, and strategic thinkers who can bridge the gap between operators and management.

Process Engineers design, manage and optimise the complex processes involved in treating our drinking water and waste water. 
Process Engineering is suited to analytical, system-oriented people who enjoy optimising performance, improving efficiency, and testing new technologies.
 
You’ll excel if you love identifying root causes of issues, using modelling and data to drive solutions, and working across operations and research & development. 
 
You might enjoy balancing technical depth with practical application and may have a strong interest in automation, innovation, or circular economy practices.

ResponsibilitIes

  • Analyse and optimise water and wastewater processes.
  • Monitor plant performance and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and process audits.
  • Work with SCADA/OT systems for operational control.
  • Support operations with technical troubleshooting.

Qualifications for this role

The following qualifications can be used to become a Process Engineer: 

  • Bachelor of Process, Chemical, Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering;
  • Training in process control and automation;
  • Chartered Engineer status.
